AIG ROP Term Rider Washington State

First... let's clear the air.  American General (AIG) doesn't actually have a term rider for Return of Premium plans (ROP).  Their Return of Premium Term plan is actually a stand alone product with pricing of its own.  It's also among the best of the ROP plans on the market.  When you have opportunity to choose a carrier for Return of Premium and the pricing is fairly close between all offerings-- it makes sense to go with the carrier that has the best A.M. Best rating.  AIG American General has an A++ rating-- the highest possible rating. 

The history of the AIG ROP Term Rider in Washington State... I mean the AIG ROP Term Policy in Washington State was a bit rocky for awhile.  American General offered their Return of Premium Plan for a time in the state of Washington and then it mysteriously was taken off the market.  The only conclusion to draw was that there was a challenge with the state regulatory body that prohibited future sales of the plan.  It wasn't long before they were back up and running again though and it's back in their repertoire as an available offering today. To receive a quote for ROP (Return of Premium) in Washington State, you can choose your state of residence on the left and select a carrier on the screen that follows.  In fact... you could select them all.  We encourage this since the best way to ensure you're getting the lowest rate from the best company is to look at everything that's available.

ROP Term Riders in Washington State

Several other providers have entered the fray in Washington State so there are indeed others from which to choose.  Our editorial staff has done some due diligence on the availability of ROP Term Riders in Washington and here is what we came up with:

Western Reserve	A+	Go figure… Western Reserve doesn't appear to offer an ROP Term Rider in Washington State on a 30 Year Plan.  In fact, they only appear to have approval for 10, 15, and 20 year term plans-- period-- in Washington State.

Conspicuous in their absence are Genworth, ING Reliastar, and Old Mutual Financial.  They all offer Return of Premium but for some reason they don't show up as having availability in Washington State.  Could be they're caught up in the regulatory maze that all carriers find themselves in when initially offering a new product.  Stay tuned... we have our fingers on the pulse and we'll keep you posted.
